Dash removal

Everyone I am in the early stages of an interior color change from brown to mostly black. This all started when I found a nice leather dash in the Garage Sale section being offered by none other than our own Tom. So using the CARPOKES dash removal guide, it is down the path I am going! Tom thanks much for some very timely intel, I will get some on order today. More to come.

I love that brown actually -- rarely see it in the oval dash cars... but the new parts should look next-level good!

Tom and Rob, great advice on the heater Clips, checked this morning and found a broken one. New ones are on order, CARPOKES to the rescue! Thanks again.

One other suggestion is to check/replace the drain hoses in the pillars. They shrink over time.

Tom, I received the Krytox grease and I was wondering if in addition to using it on the leather edge, if I should also apply it to the black felt covering where the front of the dash makes contact with the body? Thanks, Bruce

Well, just speculating, but I doubt the leather squeaks against the felt. However, how could it hurt? I'd put it on all the trim mating surfaces as you reassemble too. If in doubt, I'd use it. It's safe on virtually any surface and will never be easier to apply, and it really does cut down on the cabin squeaks, etc. Just keep some paper towels handy to keep your hands clean -- otherwise you'll get greasy finger prints everywhere. It washes off easily though, so no need to stress if you do make a minor mess.

Thanks Tom, no harm makes sense. Working on making and installing the headliner now. Getting closer to installing the new dash.
