Very surprised you are sharing this information Eric, as I believe someone did a lot of research to gain this knowledge and that it was shared in confidence. Also very disappointing TBHRUG8RB8 wrote: Wed Jan 19, 2022 10:33 am I should also make note that this mod is completely plug and play, the only mod necessary is the addition of small lash caps to the valve stems. These lifters are 100X better than factory and super easy to disassemble and repair/rebuild. I mean they are OEM MB diesel lifters for one of the best running engines of all time, the 300D.

Pretty sure Eric and who you’re talking about aren’t the ones who actually got 5 of these running. Sounds like to me everyone who’s getting butthurt about this has been all talk and no action. What do I know I’m just a polock.Cyberpunky wrote: Fri Jan 21, 2022 10:59 pmVery surprised you are sharing this information Eric, as I believe someone did a lot of research to gain this knowledge and that it was shared in confidence. Youre gonna see a few people claim that oversized lifters in an engine is something they came up with. far as I can tell it’s an idea in 944’s people have been talking about for ten years. Since the beginning of time far as engines are concerned

That really isn't my concern. I don't want to see this thread derailed by squabbling. Keep it civil so we don't have to lock the thread down, please.ihate944s wrote: Sat Jan 22, 2022 8:27 am Youre gonna see a few people claim that oversized lifters in an engine is something they came up with. far as I can tell it’s an idea in 944’s people have been talking about for ten years. And yet no one actually did anything in those 10 years(except talk), yet as soon as someone has done the hard yards researching it, finding a set up that actually works and making it viable, the information was just given away without even acknowledging the source and totally ruining any chance they had of commercializing it. No one is saying the idea hasn't been thought of before, but fact is only one person did the actual research, that really anyone could have done, instead of just talking about it, and made it work. Was it you I hate 944s? pretty sure anyone can sell anything they want. and who exactly designed the process? its probably as easy as showing up to a shop and going hey can you bore for this lifter. yeah its definitely that easyCyberpunky wrote: Sat Jan 22, 2022 10:38 pmAnd yet no one actually did anything in those 10 years(except talk), yet as soon as someone has done the hard yards researching it, finding a set up that actually works and making it viable, the information was just given away without even acknowledging the source and totally ruining any chance they had of commercializing it. Every single time I do something good for the neighborhood this total BS comes up on the internet. I am so sick of people whining. This is pretty much a dead platform, I don’t get it. I have never tried to make a single penny off any of my stuff, if somebody else wants too I could care less. Nobody is twisting anybody’s arm to make this mod and nobody is going to make a living selling this mod. I really can’t believe anybody is saying anything about this. Should be a win win for anybody that has bad lifters or wants to upgrade for the future. Why can’t people just be happy that we have what appears to be a great alternative???
