Congratulations to Porsche Penske for the overall win and Rexy for a strong 2nd in GTD Pro . The timing of the checkered flag was odd . The screen said 2 laps to go but under 3 minutes left . And then the checkered was waved and the race was over .
The Penske car had almost a second lead over the Whelen Cadillac but the Caddy had good pace . We will never know if they could have caught and passed the 7 . On to Sebring .

Absent a mistake from Nasr, there was no way the Cadillac was going to catch the Porsche. Due to traffic and such, the 963 had actually increased it's lead by almost a half second in the last couple of laps prior to the end, a lead they were maintaining. It was too late for #31 by then even if there had been another lap, again assuming no incidents or miscues.

Checkered flag at Rolex 24 was a lap early as mentioned yesterday by announcers and several here.

An Autoweek writer's thoughts and suggestions regarding the continued rise in IMSA's popularity.
"How IMSA Can Build on the Positives of Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona"

I also feel as the writer does that fans prefer and want road racing. My view is that at this time, IMSA and WEC offer some of the best racing out there. Yes, I still like IndyCar a LOT and F1 holds it's own too but IMSA/WEC are where the most fun is for me. The racing is awesome. (Note that this comment is just my current opinion - subject to change! - it's not a statement on how things are viewed by others!

Proton has revealed their WEC livery with FAT International as a sponsor . I remember the FAT 962's back in the day . I like the look , to me the black makes it pop .
