The OP threw out the idea of color-matched 'replacement' bezels for the 718. I have a 992 and was too chicken to remove the bezel so came up with the clip-on version for my car. I have made a few for free for other 992 Carpokians, but haven't offered them for sale. However, I did put the .stl file in the download section for those with high resolution resin printers (don't even try on a cheap FDM printer...).

I later learned that the 718 Sports Chrono bezel is totally different from the 992. From internet pictures, your 991 bezel may be a lot like (or the same as) the 718. Is it? Because some folks were saying it's not that hard to remove and paint the 718 bezel, I haven't had any 718 volunteers to help develop a clip-on version for that car. If you wanted to remove and paint, @Bob Z is the czar of all things interior paint. If you want a clip-on like mine, I'd be happy to work with you remotely to see if we could come up with something that works....as another Carpokes perk of course. ;)

Not to be a buzz kill, especially since I’m the OP on this thread, but Amazon sells blue, red and black bezels. The seller claims they fit all sports chronos but, based on what we know, I doubt it. I bought a black one and it arrived today. It looks very well made but I won’t know if it will fit my 718 GTS 4.0 until the car arrives - eta late November. I doubt I’ll use it but it was very inexpensive so what the heck.

I have seen those - they are big and bulky and the shades of color do not match anything. They also make similar radio button covers as well so if you like that kind of bezel look you should get the gawky radio buttons, too.

Actually, the one I received doesn’t look bulky and black is black. I’m sure the red and blue won’t match the Porsche colors. Painting the OEM part is obviously the best option. Amazon does sell really tacky bezels with rhinestones, etc…🤮

Maybe I am thinking of a different one, sorry, but can you post a pic or link to it? Just looked, is this it?

If so, the Black does not match since it is Gloss, and we agreed the Red and Blue do not match anything. That is why popping off the OEM bezel and painting it Satin Black is the best for keeping it OEM-looking.

Link on post #53. The actual product does look better than the photo on Amazon but, of course, OEM Is the best option. The stick on bezel cover option may not even work for the 718 because there is little or no space on the top part of the bezel to snap something on. Like Tom, I may be too apprehensive to pull off and paint my OEM one but after seeing your photos of the black trims, I’m very tempted.🤙🏻

There is no harm trying it - get a fingernail

behind and try to pop it off. I found these pics that may help show what it looks like:

Hmmm.... I bet we could make virtually identical replicas of those. Of course, once you pull yours off, I guess the replica would just be for peace of mind in case a tab breaks or something. (Or for those who like to keep all their stock parts stored away for a rainy day.)

Bob -- do you know if that ring has a separate part number?

No part# since the only way to get the bezel is to buy the entire SC assembly. It would be nearly impossible to break it when taking it off since it is very rigid! As one can see it only goes on one way so for those that take it off just put it on loosely and rotate it until it snaps back on.
