Apple admits their Lightning connector is done, not only in EU but probably here and elsewhere as well:

The EU also just gave a firm conversion date. No word has to exactly when (or if?) it will be implemented in U.S. or elsewhere, but I would imagine it won't be long.

This is back to all water-cooled cars, IMO.

OK, I had a 997.1 (6-speed). I also had a 991.1 (2014) as well as my 2020 992. All were great cars. I am a little more pleased with the big rear-end of the 992.

I got this car on 2-1-20. I loved it:

I paid $100,500 for it.

Then Porsche made and offered me a newer car. I say it's an addiction. They are congratulating me for allowing me to buy such a great car. I like it too much as I get paranoid driving it in Atlanta traffic. I'll get over that stuff.

I say the 2023 Porsche 911 Turbo is better than the GT3 (which is less expensive). :mrgreen: :ugeek:

I am back on topic on the 2023 Porsche 911 Turbo.

My wife and I drove it up to Charlotte, NC for our Xmas with my family (Dad, sister, son, etc.).

It's basically 250 miles each way. According to my Porsche trip thing, I got 25 MPG up and 22 MPG back home. The trip was to get the 3.8L engine to be "broken in" according to the Porsche recommendation of a 1250 mile schedule.

It's also to get me familiar with the car. My only complaint would be the $3490 Sports Exhaust System (chrome tips). It's barely more loud than the stock setting. My older 991.1 was much better.

I like the LCA (lane change assist) option, and the front axle lift option (it works perfectly). The 18-way seats are very comfortable. I also like the rear end with the standard script that says 911turbo:

Car looks great. I wonder if there is a difference in exhaust sound between the 992 turbo and turbo s? When I hit my sport exhaust button, the exhaust gets about as loud as I'd want it (and adds the downshift burbles in sport mode). In comparison, my 991 Turbo S didn't get louder at all -- it just opened a baffle to let more of the exhaust noise in the cabin!! :lol: Your 991 probably had a real PSE system though, and it may have spoiled you with a much louder exhaust. I know other PSE's from that era were noticeably louder than their counterparts in the new cars (e.g., 981 GT4 is louder than a 718 GT4...).

I think it may be due to EU regulations that move to our newer cars?

So, I have no clue. :mrgreen:

I'd like to get above the factory 1200 mile (the Porsche mark) to open up the two big turbo's on each side of the flat-six car. I can be patient for a few months.

I did get the Porsche 911 writing pen, ;)

I think we should gently steer away from that sort of thing as a general rule, unless somehow legitimately related to an on-topic discussion. No big deal with that picture or with an occasional network-TV-friendly picture, but I'd rather keep the focus on Porsche, cars, and related stuff. It's just too hard to draw lines on that kind of thing without alienating/offending a part of the population -- a problem I'd much rather leave to Twitter, Facebook, etc. It reminds me of the last scene in War Games...

We were all kidding around here. I'll keep it in the lines of good taste going forward.

I drove my new '23 Turbo up to the lake on Monday. My break-in miles says no as to getting it all done. I do have pictures.

BTW,
This is a five option 911 Turbo that started with a base $182,900 plus the $1450 delivery and $1000 gas guzzler tax.

The car is getting about 22-25 Mpg when running in 8th gear. The owner's manual says 1275 miles before the break-in is over.

The car door plate says (cold) 48 PSI on the rear tires and 38 PSI on the front tires. It was delivered this way.
