The pics accompanying the article are not of the new vehicle but rather a newish Taycan. Is anyone proofing anywhere anymore?
Anyway, I'll snob this odd-looking "K-1" and ask what is it and why does Porsche need it? Maybe the rendition is a long way off from the final version, assuming they actually produce the thing.
80% electrified by 2030? I hope Porsche & VW group honchos know what they're doing - could get a little ugly for Porschephiles as well as shareholders. Time will tell.

I keep having this nagging feeling that a couple of years into this "all electric" mentality the auto makers are taking is going to take a huge bite out of their collective posteriors. Toyota seems to have a sane approach and is hedging their bets hugely while nearly every other manufacturer is all-in for EV's (due, I admit, mostly to the combined government pressure and largess). Carrots and sticks both at the same time. Everything I read by anyone other than the died-in-the-wool environmentalists says we have a woeful number of unreliable charging stations, a rickety power grid, a dearth of precious metals necessary for the humongous number of batteries required, a public reluctant to pay the large sums asked for EV's, and any number of other rational and reasonable arguments against electrification. I'm fine with anyone building and attempting to sell EV's, but I highly resent them being crammed down my throat by some elitist who jets around the world burning who knows how much carbon while telling me to turn my thermostat down(or up, as the case may be), drive an electric vehicle (but not too much) and, oh, by the way, don't charge it during peak demand periods.
I still have a deposit on a Lucid Pure Air, done mostly as a lark a year ago, but I've come to believe that it will not arrive for a long time, if ever, and that I'll flip it as soon as possible if indeed I do take delivery. EV's have their place, but one car families aren't their prime market.

mostly to the combined government pressure
Isn't VW/Porsche/et al partially owned by the German and state governments?

Here is a vid on the Porsche Mission X Hypercar from Supercar Blondie
I understand some of the hype but think this would be nicer with a V-10.....or maybe a V-8 or flat -6 hybrid...but that's just me.

I'd seen pics of the car before but not a video. It's pretty fine no matter what it's powered by - quite the design. But yes, I'm with you on the desire for some kind of ICE. Not happening with this baby, however!
It will be awesome and awesomely expensive too, my guess of around $2m by the time all is said and done. Speculation of 1500HP or so by estimated release in 2027.
Supercar Blondie - 14.3m subscribers and over 1m views of this video in just a month. Wow! I'm sure she'll be able to afford one.

I added a “glass of wine” because you didn’t add an option for warm beer
Much more tasty than cold beer

Thanks for the early Poll change as I had a very subtle Central Coast Syrah when in California on vacation last month. I was able to put down both an ICE vote and a wine vote -- of course like Grasmere I enjoy things, warm!

"Recent Battery Fires Rock All-Electric Formula E, FIA World Rallycross Championship"
Formula E testing at Valencia postponed following explosion in garage area.
Fits and starts of any new technology are certainly to be expected, but that's precisely why you don't mandate the unproven. Let it develop naturally along with other promising new vehicle propulsive technology.
Meanwhile, to repeat my earlier vote/post/sentiments - I'll stick to ICE.

Where I live, I am surrounded by Tesli. One of the guitar players I jam with drives a Mach E.
Last week when I was enjoying myself up in the Smokey Mountains, I didn't see any EV's up in the serious twisties. The gift shop I stopped at before the tail of the dragon did have a charger on the wall. Back on "normal" roads and interstates Tesla was the predominant EV, and quite a few of them.
