Thanks - just verified that I was guilty of reversing that from my 1st 2020 pics!

Another data point - I had never run an oil analysis before - posting results from ALS which is a lab that runs mail in analysis. I got a Wix kit and mailed it in. The metal and contaminant sections look good from my cursory google searches.
IE - no excessive wear and no sign of coolant in the oil.
Anyone see anything interesting? Brad Penn 20W50 synthetic blend...changed a year ago with about 2k miles.
BTW - found someone to look at the head and will drop it off tomorrow.

Found a reasonable plating person nearby - anything in these pics that I should avoid replating?
I am have my doubts about re-plating the fuel pressure regulator and damper.

Will also plate a lot of bolts and large washers not shown. And one of the starter heat shields I just remembered and probably the cam gear that's still in place.

Ignore the fuel line - I took that off already.

Any suggestions?

The aluminum parts (coolant gooseneck and riser block) won't plate. The camshaft pulley may be made by powdered or sintered metal process and is not likely to plate well.

You might clean the heat shields a bit -- some of them still have Cosmoline on them, which may or may not strip off in their acid bath, and sometimes grit and grime can stick in clumps. Your plater is pretty good about picking out aluminum and stainless stuff before plating, but no point in putting them at risk of loss. I can sandblast the little aluminum parts to make them look new for you. Ed plated fuel lines with rubber attached and they came out looking great, but personally I'd rather have piece of mind with new hoses. He and I both plated the big cam gear and they came out great.

I was planning to clean up everything - put fasteners in mineral spirits for a bit and use soapy water on the bigger pieces.

Will be replacing the fuel line - might just have it remade, so I suppose I can plate it as is and then have the hose replaced.

I wouldn’t personally replate the for and damper. I also wouldn’t do stainless or Al, those look better natural. I just went through this about a year and half ago. Makes such a difference. Also take the hood latches off, hood light, strut hats.

Wow - not sure I can get to that level! How did you clean the other parts (intake, cam tower, etc)?
