Spent a lot of time fixing odds and ends. Readjusted the headlights after being at the body shop. Took it out and really enjoyed it for the first time. My son and I went and took a few photos where a friend took pictures of my Turbo. I am not a photographer but it was still fun to do.

Replaced the steering coupler and found a tiny bolt was used for the bottom connector. Not a good surprise. The car is driving very well and I have spent a lot of time driving it around. It’s really a lot of fun to rev out and push through the corners. We took it to the local small down town and took a few photos this morning.

Took the car to its first cruise in over the weekend. My son was very excited to go and enjoy the other cars. We met up with two friends with turbos as well. We also received sample Tartan for the seat centers from Only944. We are leaning towards either the dark red or the white with red.

Thanks for the update.
Tartan vote: white with red.

Thank you, that is the direction we are leaning, although my son wants the dark red one.

Thank you so much, it has come a long way. Still a few odds and ends to tie up but she’s getting there.

More work being done. Fuel pump check valve, fuel filter, proper mounting for the filter. New higher quality control arms and bushings, rear shocks, steering rack replacement (hoping to rebuild it but found a worn out pinion gear), clutch master and slave. Hope to finish all of this in the next week or so and then off to get another alignment.

Well it pains me, I committed to buying a new daily driver and my son has decided he really wants my old V70R. Unfortunately either the R has to go or the ‘84 . It looks like I may be selling the 944, which stinks since it’s almost 100% done mechanically and exterior cosmetically. I hope it goes to someone that will love it. I have put so much into this car and hate to have to make this call.
The good news is that I will probably see the restoration through to completion, the bad news is that I won’t be able to enjoy the fruits of all this work.
