Red Bull as a team had an off weekend . They just couldn't find the right setup . And BOTH cars scored points ! That's how you win championships . While I can easily say I am not a RB fan boy I do give them credit for what they have achieved and will continue to achieve until they are knocked of the perch .

One wonders where Liam Lawson may land after a points finish in just race 2 in his roll as a reserve driver and substitute for Ricciardo. It was just a short time back that George Russell showed his brilliance in a stand in roll, so I am watching Mr. Lawson with quite a bit of interest. Sargent has been on such a crash fest this year that the few flashes of brilliance with a few strong runs qualifying well are possibly not enough to keep him around.
One race does not make Red Bull on the downside, but could the strong runs by others show the tables are getting a tiny bit closer? One can only hope and I, for one, feel some of the pain Russell had to feel with his mental lapse at the end of e Singapore race and the loss of a podium spot!

Thanks for the comments from both of you!
RB certainly does have their act together and based on what the Autoweek article mentioned, it appears that they were expecting Singapore to be a challenge. They knew it was not best suited to their cars.
The Liam Lawson finish was impressive. Not only a new rookie, he's never even driven the course before!

I personally think Danny Ric and Liam Lawson will be Alpha Tauri drivers next year . A mix of veteran and young hot shoe . Yuki will replace Lance Stroll . Logan Sargeant will stay on in 2024 because he brings $$$ to the team . But if he doesn't perform he is out after next year . Mick Schumacher will end up at Alpine Hypercar program . Now if only my crystal ball would give me the lottery numbers

I have to agree except with Yuki taking over for Lance, but I like your ideas on the rest of the 2024 program.
PS -- send any lottery numbers you are thinking about to me via a PM, ha!

Rumors are saying Alpha Tauri will announce this week they are signing Yuki for 2024 . Only a 1 year extension so not over whelming support . But good PR for Japan ahead of their home race .

So it's official Alpha Tauri has signed Yuki and Danny Ric for 2024 . Liam signed as reserve driver . I think Checo is gone from RB after next year . Danny Ric will go to RB to finish his career . Liam will move up to AT to backfill Danny . Yuki goes wherever Honda ends up .

Despite the disaster for Checo I thought Japan was quite a good race. Lots of downgrid racing. Clearly Lawson is going to show up.
One of there interesting questions for me is what happens to Leclerc. When he first showed up in F1 I though he had the makings of a world champion; obviously both the car and the grid strategy and execution have been very poor, but I would think he will not be at Ferrari for much longer.
