Great to hear about your coast to coast trips. How to you handle the flat tire threat on a long trip like that?

AAA flat bed for flat tires ... not sure I would try the seal sauce and compressor Porsche provides with the car. The trips are mostly on the fly and changes happen often. A flat tire would just be one of those changes, he said optimistically. A flat tire on highway 50 in central Nevada ... well that's why I carry a blanket and beaucoup water.

Verde British Racing Green.

The configurator color renditions are inaccurate (horrid, actually), but the new 360° views are pretty good.

You are sooo right. In addition to not working, the tire goo that comes with the car is also quite good at ruining your tire pressure sensor. Ask me how I know...

Love this spec -- can't wait to see the actual car. Do you have an ETA?

That's a fine mess! I've seen posts in other forums touting a "rope plug" which plugs the puncture from the outside (tread area only ... no good on the sidewall). Any experience with that solution?

For a temporary "get me to a qualified dealer ASAP" or "get me away from the Motel Hell human sausage makers", I keep one of these in the TTS, primarily because of its center lock wheels. I've not had to use it (nor any other plug kit) - knock on wood - but keeping something along the lines of that kit in a car is a good thing to do.

Even though I won't drive any sports car with a plugged tire for any longer than it takes to get to a place for proper tire replacement, a plug kit does make sense. A little insurance to get one out of a jam is never a bad idea. :)
