Any updates from anyone on the over-sized lifters? I'm inching closer to building my new motor -- have most the pars/machining done -- but the lifters are still up in the air....

Yes

I have two options.

One is a well known high end performance manufacturer that already makes lifters for a bunch of performance cars. They needed the specs to quote. They identify all the lifters they make by size. They said they might have already made them before for someone just never marketed them.

I am still interested in the larger lifter option but in the meantime I am waiting on a quote from the manufacturer

The other option is my friends shop. He always does work for me when they are slow…..they are stupid busy with lots of new work. Defence and Aerospace, Medical, oil and gas and more. I can’t complain as he has not ever charged me for anything. He made my bellmouths and intake and blockoff plates. Bunch of other stuff also including repair to parts and tools.

32mm total height minus above ranges of each individual lifter of course.

eg. 32 mm - 10.5664 for lifter thickness
So are you trying to get someone to make replacements?

It's odd that there isn't any other OEM lifter that works as a drop-in replacement. Congrats for the effort put into finding an alternative.

Thanks

I know the quote will definitely come back cheaper than Porsche at 270.00$ US each.
That was online at Sunset Porsche.
That would mean probably 5000.00$ at Porsche Calgary as I know they want over 1100.00$ Canadian for main bearings.

If you have confidence in them, and if they're meaningfully cheaper than the factory ones, I'd be willing to go in on a set or 3 to help bring the price per part down....

I will keep you posted.

I just sent a follow up email about 30 minutes ago to them. I was asking for 32 lifters for myself.

Sounds good. I know sometimes there is a set up cost, etc., such that 32 might cost $2000, but 64 costs $2500, etc.

Lifter update.

The Vendor who I contacted only has Solid Lifters available.

I will still be trying to get Fidelity to make hydraulic lifters however, it will not be a quick project

Sorry I don’t come here very often. We have three cars running the lifters now, so far so good. My cam tower is completed but engine not running so I can’t comment on personal experience. Josh got Spiro involved so it should be spot on.
