Sainz picked up a penalty after the race for hitting Piastri . That penalty moved Perez to 4th and Sainz to 5th .

The qualifying times of the top three are so close - only about 1/14th of a second (0.074) between pole-winner Verstappen and McLaren's Piastri, with fellow McLaren teammate Norris only 0.017 seconds behind Piastri.

To your point from the Autoweek recap:
"... Norris took almost a second per lap out of the Red Bull, setting up a grandstand finish to conclude what had been an insipid race. But Verstappen held on, the margin at the end of 63 green-flag laps just seven-tenths of a second, for win No. 5 of the 2024 campaign."

A few random non complimentary comments from the article and elsewhere:
"The majority of the frontrunners duly changed tires prior to the standing restart on lap three—fulfilling the requirement to change tires—and it meant a race of extreme tire management at a circuit where passing is almost impossible."
"...languid Grand Prix..."
"Jeopardy question of the night:
Clue: "Top 10 finishers finished in same order they qualified."
Answer: What is a "parade" and not a "race."

Agree that it was a parade (usually is in Monaco) though the podium ceremony was one of the most emotional I have seen- local boy makes good; lots of tears.
