Great designs never age and I know the 450 SL and SLC well. I especially liked the 230, 250 and 280 SL of the late 60s. The latter were available in manuals I believe. I guess we can call them cousins since Porsche and Mercedes-Benz are both out of Stuttgart.
As mentioned, I would have put a bung in each bank. And it is nice to see someone on here that is practical.

Those floor pan rust holes hurt on such a beautiful car. One of the reasons I use Krown that I spray on my daily driver cars.

Took my 94-yr-old father-in-law for a haircut in the 450SL yesterday. He loves driving with the top down on a sunny day.

When I got home, I stopped in the driveway to water a Japanese maple that seems to be drying up on us.

When I came back to move the car, it looked like a staged photo -- so I figured why fight it. I was a teenager when this car came out, and it was one of the 'it' cars at the time, so I guess it will always look great to my eye....
