I did this 992 bezel in "guards red" today for a fellow Carpokean. See this thread re $5 "guards red"

Came out pretty slick if I do say so myself. :) Going to make one for myself now. Still looking for a local 718 test-fit car. :)

I thought Aero1971, who posted in this thread, was going to give you the 718 bezel measurements?

Could you please provide Tom your 718 chrono bezel measurements so he can make you and other 718 owners the custom bezel covers? I don’t have my 718 yet. I’ve gone to two dealerships to see if they had any 718 cars in stock so I could provide Tom his requested measurements. Unfortunately, there were no 718s.

FYI, you can "mention" people (i.e., tag them so that they get an email alert) by using the @ symbol. For example, here I am mentioning @BzzzBom and @Aero1971 :) When I free up a little, I'll start making more effort to find a local car. Dealers have almost no inventory these days. :(

Hi Guys,

I was hoping to get the measurements over to you, but the cars currently at the dealership for a PDSM fault (covered, eventually, under goodwill/warranty). It’ll be back for Friday. I’ll try and get the dimensions over to you at this point.

Silly question but are people not popping off the bezel and painting or wrapping it, which I first did a few years ago and most recently on my 718? And while at it, change your airbag trim ring as well!

Bob, that's the best picture yet I've seen of the 718, thank you! It's significantly different than my 992. As best I can tell, there is nothing to pop off on the 992. It's more like a tube with a bezel-shaped end. Could be wrong, but in any event it's much different than your 718 picture for sure. I also suspect you are more fearless than most about pulling stuff off the car. A little plastic cover is a no-risk move, so appealing to some, but the jury is still out on whether the 718 lends itself to that approach. Maybe make and post a video showing how to remove the bezel for painting -- that might give folks the courage needed to try it?

I peeked inside a parked 991 today. Tom, I had the same observation. The “bezel” looked more like a tube that surrounded the chrono than a pop-off bezel. Also, not sure if the 718 bezel has enough clearance between the chrono and bezel to snap on a bezel cover.

I used my fingernail to pop the bezel off. One can feel the edge of it so if a fingernail will not work try something like the tiny flathead screwdriver in a $1 glass repair kit at the Dollar Tree - it is really that easy!

On the other hand, removing the silver trim ring on the airbag take a little more effort but it is very easy as well, and making it Satin Black, like in the 992s, makes it look so much better!
