So, back to braces….the bore I used is very thick (1/8”?) and the concept is to transfer the load to the brake booster mount, that has a very strong structure on the cabin side of the firewall. I don’t really care for the way it is supposed to be installed. You drill the firewall and through bolt the plate with lots of washers as shims. The firewall is not flat so most of the new bolts have to be shimmed between the plate and the firewall. Way better to weld it in place but you need to take everything apart to do that. Removing the brake booster when your interior is in place is a pain!
