Perhaps a nicely sorted 993 could amuse you for a while. I was again a passenger in Nick W's 993 with KW suspension and it was a great experience. They feel fast and are very tactile to drive. Plus air cooled does sound nice.

To me there is a 3rd Reich vibe in the air cooled cars inherited from the VW Beetle that I just can't swallow...

I was casually browsing through local classifieds this week and stumbled upon an unused Garrett GTX3582R Gen 1. These are getting rare, especially at a better than pre covid price, so I pulled the trigger. The larger compressor should massage down the current absurd mid range response and give even more power up top. I can't wait to try it out, if only for the sake of testing yet another GTX turbo configuration.

I have a feeling that this was the turbo I had on the 3.1 & 2.6lt 8v motors. It was too big for the 2.6 but worked well on the 3.1.

The new turbo turned up but considering how close to the intake the current one already sits should make the install interesting... Who wants to bet anything?

We have a phrase in Australia regarding small spaces..."There's a Bee's dick in that"
How much larger is the new housing?

Maybe that picture is deceiving, but it looks humongous!

I remember it well Patrick, that was a fantastic car I wish I still had it. Got an itch for a 964 but they are so expensive now.

Well, the install is almost complete and there was no clearance issue. The '82 is actually an easier fit than the '76. More details when the car will be running back again.

It that a stock 951 turbo mount? Can't wait to hear how it performs.
