Just repeating what I've said above; at this point anyone who wants to get a kit now should just email me at
[email protected]. They are $279 plus tax (in California) and shipping. They generally take 2 to 4 weeks to produce after payment. I'll let you know before ordering if the wait time is longer then that.

Just a public update on these kits. I have been working on updating the LED lighting for the last few months after someone pointed out a few esthetics issues worth addressing. As is my way, that resulted in quite the quest to get the light
just right. It was already my favorite part of the kit, but the new design is even better IMO.
The update now has lighting from both above and below, with the lower lights now essentially replicating the factory parts (just much brighter). But enhancing the lower light alone left me with kind of an up-lit Halloween effect on the gauges -- so I added a second strip of light across the top and think it's the perfect touch. Still fully adjustable, from too dim to too bright.

The net result is incremental improvement all around I think.
Still waiting on the updated PCB's, but once those are available in the next few weeks, I'll resume shipping kits and make the new lighting available as an upgrade to the existing kits for those interested. A very sincere thanks to people who ordered the kit and have been waiting on this -- your patience has been incredible!

Tom - is it possible to have the LEDs be a warmer color than a bright white? Or even better, color adjustable LEDs

I use a 6000k COB LED Strip. The same strip is available in 2700k, 3000k, 4000k, red, and blue. Swapping in any of those would be a relatively cheap and easy thing to do --would just need to pass along the cost. Updating the kit to adjustable color is possible, but would require a lot more work...(i.e., so realistically, not something I am likely to offer...).

FWIW, the original incandescent bulbs are probably in the range of 2700 to 3000k.

Does this modification result in any cleaning challenges since some areas of the cluster were intended to exist behind a sheet of clear plastic?

Not really. Most people end up cleaning or painting the black cluster part under the big original lens, since many of them get spotted and tired looking over the years, but otherwise nothing special really. Just be darn sure the inner side of the clear lenses are smudge free before finally assembly or you'll be looking at those smudges for a long time...
