Haha true and when it rains the cars stays inside. The problem here is the oil on the road builds up so much when it's dry, the road turns to ice even on light rain.
I'm sure between the LSD and the traction control I should be ok.
What TC are you going with?
Hooked up the ABS sensors to the Link.
Ahh, interesting. I remember considering doing the same some years ago. Look fwd to reading about it.

I'm not sure it's going to be elegant, but it may save my ass.

Interested to hear of your feedback with the Link traction control. As mentioned already this is a mini project I may want to tackle in the future, and a friend of mine could make good use of my current Vi-PEC ECU if I upgraded to a Link G4X Xtreme. The pin out is apparently still exactly the same between both ECUs and apart from wiring up the ABS sensors this would be a P&P upgrade for me, though a little costly.

Just curious if you have thought about the new Link G5 seeing as though it’s the newest.
I was checking it out on the website and it seems it comes with a ton of the latest features.

I tossed my Spec clutch after one day. Gotta be pretty bad to go through a second clutch job right away!!!
Am I the only person who didn’t have issues with a spec clutch setup?
Fortunately I have 3 different new clutch setups on top of this from the project cars I picked up.
If I ever get the cars on the road again I can do a review of all the setups. Lots of fun swapping multiple clutches

Theyve just released the G5 Neo, no pricing yet but the G5 pro is quite expensive, double what my G4X cost from memory

The G5 may make sense to someone starting from scratch with a standalone ECU and I don't see any new features in there that would improve significantly the tuning experience over what I have. I have no interest in direct injection, deliberately do not want wifi or GPS and my logging rate is plenty enough for me already.
Traction control would be an interesting mini project but from a broader view point detract from the sort of natural interaction and direct inputs I greatly enjoy that old car for, and I suppose that cutting down ignition in closed loop under full load to avoid traction loss will already cause the engine to run hotter so it won't be a win-win situation.

I agree the G5 isn't really worth the the money unless your dealing with DI.
I personally think DBW is worth the effort but theres a lot of wiring involved. I really had to dumb mine down to start with as it was way to responsive, more responsive than a cable could ever be.

First drive of the year for the all weather warrior. I forgot the laptop and didn't do any datalogging but the engine loves such cold weather.

The combination of very high power and lack of traction is compelling!!
