Just checked an old factory lifter.
38mm diameter
32mm high
11.65mm inside wall (to the actual floor, not to the little step where the floor hits the side)
.8mm button height
This was a used original factory lifter (not an INA replacement) that had been sitting in a baby jar full of 10-40 for many years. I measured the button height from the inner floor (not the depression right around the button). I measure it by resting a ruler across the top of the lifter, then comparing the depth from the top of the button vs the depth to the inner floor, if that makes sense.

Awesome thanks.
Similar method to what I did.
Mine was an original Porsche lifter.
I think I will measure the rest of them.
We have some better tools at work that are also calibrated so I will try them next week when I go back to work.

I measured 7 lifters one is an INA and the rest are Porsche. The 8th lifter is at the machine shop.
Depth ranged from 442 thou to 446 thou
Which is 11.2268mm to 11.3284mm
Each lifter was slightly different.
I took multiple measurements on each lifter.
I was consistent on each lifter same value each time but as I have show they all differ from each other.
Kinda surprised me.
As shown on the case this Starrett depth gauge was just Calibrated Dec 14 2021.

Are you trying to replicate the lifter? If so, wouldn't the critical measurement be the flat face to the top of the button? I used the end of a caliper for my measure depth measurement, so would trust your measurements over mine.
Yes. I am subtracting the depth from overall height of 32mm

So are you trying to get someone to make replacements?gruhsy wrote: Tue Jan 11, 2022 5:31 am Button depths were 416 - 422 thou
10.5664 mm to 10.7166 mm
32mm total height minus above ranges of each individual lifter of course.
eg. 32 mm - 10.5664 for lifter thickness
