It sounds like a rough spot on the timing belt that rubs against a flange every 3 revolutions or so. As if 3 teeth on the belt were catching an edge. Can you put a white line on the timing belt and see if the frequency of the sound happens once per belt revolution?

Yes that’s what I’m talking about. My car has around 125,000 miles on it. I bought it around 116,000 miles, all driving done in west Tennessee
