It's a shame IPD will not be offering their plenum for the 718 GTS 4.0. For the money, I still think the IPD plenum/TB combo is still a very viable, and relatively inexpensive, bolt-on for other Porsche models. If this is your ONLY mod, I believe it's worth a try, especially when compared to the power gains from more expensive exhaust mods. As an example, Fabspeed, a great exhaust product, quotes similar power gains, but at 3 times the cost.

From Fabspeed's ad:

"This system makes power throughout the entire RPM band. On our DynoJet we saw +15 whp and 11 ft/lbs of tq at 7,600 RPM and a healthy dose of torque down low at 2,400 RPM gaining +28 ft/lbs of tq and +13 whp. This is low end torque you'll really feel around town and horsepower that continues all the way up to redline."

If I'm working with a limited and judicious budget, I'd prefer power over sound.

The owner of IPD is my friend and I am his customer. Greg’s mother lives next door to us. Greg told me he is engineering a 4.0 L product. I even offered my Spyder for engineering purposes.

Although we have thoroughly explored the options of making a Plenum for the 718 applications, we have discovered that it would be a very involved, complicated and expensive to manufacture and install. So the bottom line is that we have virtually designed a complete intake system as opposed to just a Plenum, but we have not committed to manufacturing at this stage. We definitely know there is plenty of room for improvement, but we are not sure how many customers would be willing to drop $2000 on the IPD manifold and $1500 on installation labor when all said and done.

We have spent the past 2 years trying to maintain inventory levels of our current product line, so new product development has unfortunately taken a back seat. We are planning on diving back into the 718 intake system in 2023, but wouldn’t have any production pieces until late 2023 assuming all goes well.

If the engineering happens, can I assume for 718 GT4's too?

Maybe you're both correct. Larry's post said that Greg indicated on the 718 forum that there might be something by late 2023. Heck, in 3-weeks we'll see the end of Q1 2023. That's scary. Wasn't Christmas and New Years just a few days ago?

Larry, what was the date of the post you copied?

Greg - did tell me something that it would be possibly 2023 before they could consider this opportunity…..
