Stormy is a great Carpokean who has been super supportive from the early days... I'm sure he was just being funny about the gunpoint thing and lamenting the challenges of growing our friendly Porsche forum!

For what it's worth, I read Willy's reply as a reference to the those on the "other" site; you know, the place where the drama and sewer minefields exist that have to be carefully traversed to find any golden nuggets. (Assuming any worthwhile nuggets still exist there.

).

If it was a reply to Stormy (which I don't think it was), it flew right over my head.

Ah, Stormy is in Florida and I was born there , so he likely finds my warped sense of humor understandable and I do find this Forum to be a pun, er, a fun place to hang. No worries, these two Floridians will show why we come from the Sunshine State and we will continue to drag our friends over to this mellow site and not over to others where the Sun don't shine.

That sounds like a great idea to me.

I am a huge fan of their magazine and the entire Hagerty empire - it's a quality company from top to bottom. They support auto sports in an unprecedented manner, including all things PCA related. On top of that, McKeel Hagerty is quite the Porsche fan.

Yeah, the above is a shameless plug, but after 20+ years of agreed-amount specialty vehicle coverage with Hagerty, I'm sold!

I'll look into Hagerty, thanks. Poking around on their website, it looks like the magazine comes out 6 times a year as a perk to their AAA-like Hagerty Drivers Club? Am I looking at the right thing?

You are! The Driver Club is excellent and the magazine that comes with it is almost without peer in my opinion. So many great articles, writers, pictures, subjects - all designed to foster and keep alive the passion.

Regarding number of subscribers, I found this from their Q3 2003 SEC filing: "Hagerty Driver’s Club (HDC) paid members increased 8% to approximately 807,000 compared to the prior year period."

I suddenly worry about the cost of advertising with them, but will find out.

That's nearly 8 times the circulation of Panorama, and I'll be interested to see if they have any data about Porsche owners in their ranks.
