One thing I did that made quite a big difference in getting in and out was to install a Momo "Eagle" steering wheel. It is only a 340mm wheel vs. our 385+mm stock wheels, and it has a flat bottom which gives a significant boost in room for the legs in and out.

The downside, of course, is it slightly blocks the top of the gauges (which I have gotten used to, no problem) and you lose the driver airbags. It is a calculated risk considering how I drive and where I drive, but I have rolled the dice and feel comfortable driving without the airbags. I drive my car every day about 12k/year and have no desire to go back. The new wheel makes all the difference in my enjoyment of the car.

If it were me I'd go to a Macan GTS. Quite sporty but more practical. I'd buy CPO. I'd be thinking about lowering the ride height some as well.

Yeah, I'd dearly love to keep the 718, it's just hard to justify having that much money sitting around being used so little. I haven't driven it since the AMG came to our house, but I will when the weather is better, and I'm afraid that will cause more hesitation about selling it. I mentioned to my sales rep Friday that I was going to sell it and he called yesterday afternoon with an offer of $87k. I really felt a little insulted by that, I'm sure they would put it on the floor with a price north of $100k. I do have the luxury of taking my time and sorting out my options. I may try to take one more trip in it maybe to The Rattler in NC, an easy drive from here.

Hi Bill - Not sure if this would help, but a buddy of mine's father has a corvette and he has really bad knees as well. He installed a big swivel cushion and a little handle in the door jam to help get in, and mainly out. It has made him drive it a lot more. Worth looking at perhaps.

Examples below. Can't remember what brand he bought.

The handle might be a help, my biggest problem is bending my knee enough for my foot to clear the door opening. It's stiff after sitting in the car for any period. The car sitting a couple of inches above the ground doesn't help.

I had several inquiries from my PCA online ad, one was from a broker that bought my '16 Cayman GTS. After jumping through a few hoops, including a PPI, he sent me the money yesterday, and was to schedule a transporter. I had an out-of-town funeral yesterday and on the way nome about 3:30 I got a call from an unknown number. It was the transport driver asking if he was at the correct location. !!?? I'd received no notice, hadn't removed my "stuff" from the car, nor had an opportunity for one final drive. I got home an hour later and hurriedly removed my radar detector, Blendmount, wiring, and tag, as well as the host of static cling PCA stickers. I did take a slight detour of about 4 miles to say goodbye, then parked behind the enclosed trailer. (It was parked at the bottom of my hill, no way he could have negotiated my neighborhood safely). I left as he said he needed 25 minutes to perform his inspection. 20 minutes later he called to say there was something wrong. I hurried down to discover he was stalling the car every time he started up the ramps since he was attempting to do so in 3rd gear. I showed him where 1st was but it didn't help much, he still stalled it every time. He finally asked me to drive it up into the trailer, which I did. After dogging it down I signed the release and he was gone. Now I'm shiftless.
