Agreed. I'm also planning to use Tarett's front camber plates and rear toe links. They'll be combined with rear camber plates (Alekshop) to run 265/305 on 19x9 and 19x11 Apex wheels with the new Hoosier TA Pros. Should all work well, but will circle back if there are any issues.

I'm running stock 20" wheels and I regularly use 305s on the rear. I haven't had any problems. How are the 19" wheels different?

It's not that 305s won't work but rather that there are additional considerations that make 295s better for my use.

I'm using Tarett Engineering suspension upgrades which allow considerably more negative camber than can be achieved with stock 718 suspension components. At -2.75 all around, the clearance is tight and 305/30 at the rear will stand a very good chance of not mixing well with hard track driving. IE: hitting the inside inner wells.

Also, OEM rear 20" tires for a GT4 are 30s whereas the 19" MPSC2 available are 35s. With 35s, the circumference, sidewall height and overall diameter is higher, (respectively by approx 5%, 17%, 5% - per online tire size calculators). With the 295/35 I'm pretty much already at the limit for clearance.

Interesting discussion gentlemen, and I don't have a Cayman, just an old 951, but the focus is the point. There have been similar points/questions on my platform and after reading many articles on handling, alignment can make or break a cars personality. Thank you for sharing.

Using Tarett front camber plates along with their toe link arm in the rear and am running 255s up front in both 18s and 19s. Running 295/30/18 Hoosiers in the rear with the 18 inch Apex wheels ( forged ) and 285 RE71RSs in the rear with the 19s ( flow formed Apex wheels ). I just got in a set of GT3 A-Arms from Rennline and will get a set of studs from Apex this coming week ( I like that they do a 75mm stud ) and will look at pushing the limits of my alignment close to -3 up front and around -2 to -2.5 in the rear. Just corded a rear Hoosier so looking to get these items done , but once completed I should be able to run a 265 up front and a 305 in the rear if desired. Good info from everyone. Special thanks to blueline and J-Dub for their ideas when I got started on getting my alignment adjusted to better track specs.
