Im curious about your opinion on how often we should change the engine oil. I have a 79 911sc I only drive it 1500 to 2000 miles a year. I keep it in Florida and drive it in the winter season. i do sneak down occasionally to drive it several times during the year. I change it once a year regardless, unless I drive it 3000 miles
Thanks Peter
Once a year sounds about right! If low mileage

Thanks for the info re checking/replacing 1985 3.2 fuel lines.
Re Porsche brake fluid; my maint. manual recommends flushing every two years on service visits. I have done that since 1987 i.e. on my 1985 - 911, and have never - truly never had any brake issues/leakage. 198,000 miles since 5-31 1985. Rotors and pads OF course have been replaced as needed.
So accepting the hydroscopic nature of brake fluid, like most things, Porsche knew what they were doing - to flush the fluid ever two years.
1. I have moved to 3 years for flush given the DOT-4 fluid.
2. There seem to be questions re the DOT 5 Silicone based brake fluid - what intelligence can you offer re that subject?
Best Wishes,
Greg
