After a respray I had to reinstall the door handles and was not excited about the likelihood of scratching new paint, so I removed the interior door panel and glass and it was way easier.
I would only recommend this method. It seems like more work but it’s faster and less prone to damaging the paint.
I found that you don't even need to remove the window (unless maybe if that aft window channel bracket has its weld spots intact). I found it very easy to snap those plastic clips on the linkage with just the window rolled all the way up.

I also spotted a couple bolts in the middle of the door that were loose that I tightened up and now I don't hear the squeaky rattle anymore when I shut the door so I'm pretty happy with everything.
