I just got back from my trip to Egypt last week, and it was almost the worst trip of my life. I decided not to get roaming because it’s too expensive and stuck with the idea of using a local SIM (big mistake). I ended up with three SIM cards, and, of course, I got scammed with all of them. I was already regretting not getting roaming, but luckily, I had the idea to try an eSIM. I found this Egypt eSIM service, and it worked perfectly and was affordable. It would’ve been pretty funny if I got scammed with the eSIM too:))).

One year ago this thread got its start, and I have been so pleased with the engagement here.
For 2025 we went back to the beach that inspired “The Travel Thread”.
West Bay Beach, Roatan.

I often wander around Arizona where I have a winter home. Took some guests up to Monument Valley a couple of days ago where I did something I have never done before.

I went with a guide into the areas where you cannot drive yourself - soft,flour-like fine sand, very difficult to drive on without specialized tires and lots of experience. The guide was brilliant and explained the geology, and then, using nothing but his bare hands and a bottle of water, mounded up the sand and carefully poured the water on the mound to show the effects of water on the landscape................

From Tennessee's vacation website, "10 Tennessee Summer Road Trip Ideas", a few of which might be of intererst to carvers if you're ever out our way. There are plenty more even greater driving roads in our state and this part of the country other than the ones listed here but it's a start!
