What stinks on the price is my local tire shop has the 71RS on closeout and I can get a 10% discount on top of that however I wanted to try the RZ so I had to pay full retail.

The Track Attack still has a reputation of a two lap wonder and they fall off, at least around here so I have not made the leap yet myself. Same really with the Vitour P1s, however Vitour seems to be releasing more models recently.

Tim, to answer you question no I have not yet been on track with the RZs, my first track day after the summer break is the Labor Day weekend.

I love the Hoosier Track Attack Pros - they're not two-lap wonders for me. I've now run several sets and they never seem to lose their grip, even in extreme heat. I can drive them to the cords and they still manage to keep me going. Somewhat, anyway. Lol. They've been very well received in actual on-track tests too. I wonder if some of those complaining are running them at excessive pressures.

The Hoosiers don't wear very well, however. I get about 350 track miles on the rears (3, maybe 4 track days max) and around 550 miles on the fronts. (MPSC2s will achieve an additional 10%-15% of track miles.)

I may go back and give the Michelins a round again soon but I'm also interested in the new 71RZs, so looking forward to your feedback when you get some time on track with 'em.

I have not made as many track events this year but the ones I went to fellow drivers feel the RZ is wearing better on a road course also. Looking forward to hearing from J - Dub as I have to burn up my RSs and so far the RZs are likely to be my next pair of rubber.

Agreed. I think I want to try new Bridgestones. Better pricing, I'm sure they'll wear better, and maybe they'll have good track manners. The Hoosiers were sliding around too much today at NCM. Probably just me (old and worn out) or maybe the heat (I can't take the heat like I used to) or that the current Hoosiers are about done. Something was amiss that's for sure. Lol. Too late for the 71RZs this time as I have a new set of Track Attacks on the way.

I'd sure like to see some cool weather. The heat is hard on everything. Me, tires, the car, the track surface and did I mention me? Oil temps hit 295° at one point today and 305° a couple of weeks ago when I forgot to turn the a/c off before starting the track session. Got a large, bright, stern warning from the GT4: "reduce load" or something to that effect.

Lap times and being on track are better in cool weather - motors are happier with dense, cold air and so am I.

I've been using Robertsmania as my screen name for a long time, and almost everyone thinks my name is Robert - but that's actually our last name. Its fine, I'll answer to anything as long as its polite.

I do stream iRacing regularly and its interesting that even though my name is usually displayed right there prominently on the stream, most people still call me Robert.

Here's a clip from when we had just sold the base model Cayman I had briefly last summer and taken delivery of the GTS and a viewer asked about it.

Mr. Robert's mania still works , you are one driving fool and I commend you. Just had breakfast with a buddy of mine this morning and he has 13,000 miles on his 25 Cayman GTS and he has only had it for 6 months. You guys are likely getting more smiles per miles than than majority of us and I think I need to stop typing and go out and drive my Cayman out of respect for you two.
