GTR Engine.jpg
The engine is back in the car. Cleaned up a lot of things, and hope to be on the dyno this week.
So I was browsing facebook recently and came across the Porsche 944 GTR #3 page, and it appears to be the same engine. I believe only 7 of these cars were built. I assume this engine must be out of the #7 car?
Very very cool that you are working on one of these engines @michaelmount123! I think I read these make around 550hp?
I have a collected a bunch of photos in my pic folder of that car. I have saved a ton of photos over the years from the net as pics are great references for putting our cars together and taking them apart. I put a few on Facebook which are probably the ones I shared there.
Not mine originally as they were first posted on RL.

Same. I've got a lot of pics of these cars saved. Seems to be more than one of them resurfacing at the moment too.
This build has passed my knowledge, thanks for all the cool info and pictures
Any timeline for driving?

Engine now making 600hp at the crank, with 500 ft. lbs. of torque. Not done since I believe there's more in it, but it's a lot better. This was at 1.7 bar. The car's now on it's way to Laguna Seca for the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. We'll push it harder this year. Colin Dougherty (dassport.com) is the owner and accomplished driver.

Dropped an exhaust valve at Daytona. Made quite a mess.

Bummer, sorry about that. Over-rev'd? Not a cheap mishap I'm sure. Makes for a pretty cool picture if that's any consolation.

Sorry to hear that.
How was it performing before the dropped valve?

Damn, that's a shame Michael! Do you know why or what caused it?
