Had a half work day since tomorrow is a vacation day. I got three projects done.

1. A while back I took the side pods off of my car to install the GT4 side scoops. The tops of the side panels near the rear fender I failed to get clipped in properly, likely because I attempted to do them last after the panel all tension from other areas. Today I took both sides back off and reinstalled them focusing on the rear fender clips first then everything else.

2. part of removing the side panels is removing some of the screws for the fender liners. I took the rear of the front fender liners off completely as well as the front of the rear liners, cleaned them and then applied Dynamat to the insides of the liners. The intention is to quiet the cabin from tire noise and rocks hitting the liners.

3. Re-installed the TechArt front lip. last time I installed it the fitment was not quite right and it was pulling, under tension. It was hot, I was on the car port and not ready to deal with it. Today I had more time and the AC was on in the garage so I could think it through. I had to take a razor blade and slightly trim the lip that wraps around the front bumper edge into the wheel well. This simple trim was a game changer and was all it needed.

Extra Project. My garage has a 6" stem wall on the outside of the foundation wherever there is not a door. While I was laying under the car doing various projects I looked over at the wall and could see light coming in under the trim. Apparently the top of the stem wall was not weather sealed to the footer of the wall. Tomorrows project is to caulk the inside and outside the best I can. Might have to move some stuff like shelves and my workbench to get full access...

@ReidMcT, glad to hear you're doing better.
From your profile, it looks like you live in or near Houston, TX.
Pretty much any local auto store will dispose of your used oil for free. (Auto Zone, Orielly's, Advanced Auto, etc)
I change the oil in our cars and take the old oil to the local O'Reilly's. They've always been accommodating.
I'd suggest calling the closest stores around your area and ask if they'll take old oil.
I bet you'll find a location not too far away.

Cheers

Yes. I'm not sure I made clear that people return their used oil to FCP Euro because they get brand new oil in return. It's a hassle, but worth it to some, considering the high prices of our fancy oils.

You could check out their website if this seems nonsensical.

Glad you are doing better, McT, we have been hitting some major humid days here in the Midwest and your scare should be a wakeup call for folks around the US --- it has been extremely hot is much of our Country. Happy 4th to everyone and I may just wash the Das K Mann today to celebrate the independence is gives me.

Robertsmania ----- the break in is frustratingly long so I had fun doing what you did taking pictures at 718, 982, and other numbers related to my car ( last of the Vin , date it arrived , 1000 miles, etc. ). Though I kept the revs down, I look back now and wandering around plenty of two lanes, practicing shifting the PDK to change speeds and revolutions, I realized how much fun I actually had. Enjoy and welcome to this happy group of Porschephiles.

Happy with my tie-dye door straps, I wanted trim to match. And I happened to have a leftover set of standard silver painted trim, after putting brushed aluminum in the Boxster.

The kind folks at Strapworks lent me their digital artwork, which I used to DIY some waterslide decals. With no talent, I made mistakes with this tricky, delicate material. But I managed to make it good enough to please my eye.

I'm trying to get matching seatbelts made, but it's difficult to get small batches of anything.
