Not a great day for Penske at Le Mans qualifying. Cadillac took pole and second on the grid.

Small showing in the GT3 class this year. Still love watching it! The Taylor brothers would be a blast to hang with. Kind of rooting for Jordan

Other than bragging rights pole position doesn't mean much in a 24 hour race . But good job by Cadillac/Jota .

Iron Dames have announced they will not attend the Watkins Glen race due to injury to Gatting . She wasn't available for LeMans but they found a fill in driver . You mean to tell me there is not one qualified female driver that is available to fill in at WG ? I find that very hard to believe . What a great opportunity for someone . Thoughts ?

My guess is there's more to the story that's not being shared publicly.

Money/sponsorship was the first thing that came to mind for me.
It's sad for the team that they are not running the next race as they are very talented and are a big draw for a lot of fans. Maybe it's just a hiccup and nothing of consequence - just unfortunate timing.

Autoweek:
"Huge Field Will Take on the Green Hell as Nürburgring 24 Gets Underway Saturday"
"More than 140 cars in 20 different classes will go twice around the clock"
"Jackie Stewart, who won at the ‘Ring, famously called it the Green Hell and used it as a centerpiece in his arguments for greater track safety. Since it held its first race in 1927, it has claimed 100 drivers by some estimates, and as many as 100 tourists who drive on the public days, possibly more as some fly off into the deep trees and aren’t found for quite a while. Or so the legends say."
