A few days ago I made an adjustment to make my front and rear toe-in to try to get closer to my target. Adjusted both but have not yet verified if my goal was reached. I got distracted because I finally got a hold of Soul Performance and got the OAP heatshield replacement process started. Since the car was jacked up for alignment work, may as well start.

Tonight I took my over axle pipes off in preparation to ship them to Jet Hot for them to strip them of their coating then they will send them to Soul so they can install the latest heat shielding they have developed. If I was the original purchaser I could get this done from Soul under warranty but since I bout them second hand I have the pleasure of paying both companies for their services.

During the OAP removal I removed my home brew heat shielding which I must say was not holding up well. I also found on the passenger side that the OAP to exhaust manifold bolts were loosening up.

Plan to re-install the stock OAP in the meantime. Tomorrow is my birthday and myself and the ladyfriend are going on a camping trip and then we will have family in town for a few days so OAP install and final alignment setup in in my to do list. If I can swing it there is a canyon drive on Sunday morning but that is looking likely out of the picture.

@J-Dub

That all sounds great Jeremy. Well, except for having to pay for the OAP heat shield upgrade. Hopefuly it won't take too long, but there is a lot of work and shipping involved. Jet Hot was dragging their heels at one point but maybe they've caught up, especially since you're paying for the stripping process. My new Soul OAPs are holding up very well so I think you'll be pleased

Happy B-day. Have a fun camping trip!

The installers weren't feeling it; the lady in the parking lot was! I'm happy, and hope it holds up. It was a difficult job.

I would never think to do that, but I’m drawn to it, I like it

Pikes Peak!! Outstanding and how very cool to have the radio narration by someone that experienced who was also leading the way as the group made the climb! That's a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Yes it was, sharing it with my daughter made it even better!

WillyDaP wrote: Mon Jun 16, 2025 6:21 am I have driven to the top 4 times , the first time clear back in the 50s, but it is really great since it was all paved. I remember how my wife and I stopped three times coming down in our 1980 Honda Accord ( in 1980 ) as the brakes were getting too hot. Seven years back we came down in our Jeep Cherokee Limited and never stopped once, brakes have definitely improved a lot over the years. Fun trip and thanks for posting as that had to be a really great experience.
My first drive was about 30 yr ago before paving. I was living in western NY and was in Denver for a business trip. Immediately got off the plane, hopped in the rental and drove to the top of Pike's Peak. Young, uninformed going from 700 ft above sea level to over 14,000, well needless to say I was a bit dizzy and nauseous at the top. Took a few picts and headed down.

My sister would love your car since we get pictures sent to us every year when she goes insane on meadow flower power ! I would have to admit some of the pictures of Texas wildflowers are spectacular but no way would I tell her as we would just get another 20-30 blooming pictures and have to ooooh and aaaah in appreciation. So, in my situation for self preservation I will not be sending her a picture of your car, ha. I would imagine you get plenty of kudos from fellow Texans?!

I do! It makes people happy.

And cars behind me often stop farther back at stoplights, which is nice.

As a PSA/reminder, opening photos in Carpokes (especially when there are more than one on any given post) is greatly enhanced with Tom's platform enhancement.

Simply open one photo in any given post and then use the left and right side arrows to view the others. The viewing is greatly enhanced for multiple pics but is also much better even if only one photo since the result is not only larger but also boasts a much cleaner disply. Great viewing!

This may only work on PCs/desktops. However, photos are best viewed in that environment anyway, so the upgrade is an awesome and welcomed improvement.

If you haven't tried it yet, give it a whirl on the superb Pikes Peaks photos from @Pachanga718.

Great tip Tim! I was not aware of that feature. Love constant improvements.
