Interesting, does the whole thing heat up -- even the CF part?wem wrote: Tue Mar 29, 2022 10:14 am I have heated steering with the CF steering wheel on my 981 Boxster S. Heated steering is an option with CF steering wheel.

I contacted Dallas Custom Wheel and got a quote on a GT sport wheel with Espresso leather and contrasting stitching, less than a new wheel from Suncoast. They have tge wheel in stock so I don't have to send my wheel in. The only catch is that it's a bare wheel and I'll have to put all my trim bits on it, MF buttons, mode switch, etc. This shouldn't be too hard, I've swapped wheels on my last two Cayman, it's just plug n play. I'm going to do it. Nice folks and they respond really quickly to an email.

That's great to hear. Post before and after pics if you can. It's a sample size of one, but the one steering wheel I saw them do look really good -- right at home in a brand new Porsche.... Hope yours turns out as nice!Bill in Bama wrote: Wed Apr 20, 2022 2:36 pm I contacted Dallas Custom Wheel and got a quote on a GT sport wheel with Espresso leather and contrasting stitching, less than a new wheel from Suncoast. I don't like the feel of the CF part, just a personal thing. Plus in warm weather it is hot to the touch until the AC kicks in. I'm in Europe right now but when I return I'm getting an all leather one from Dallas Custom, and my CF one will be available should anyone want it.

Having owned three Porsches with the CF steering wheel, and seven Porsches with the black leather steering wheel, both get equally hot if sitting out in the sunlight. The only way that I have significantly reduced the initial hot temperature is to have a nano ceramic film (clear) applied to the inside of the windshield of my Taycan.
The only reason I did not opt for the CF steering wheel in my Taycan was that I wanted to take a break from all the CF interior trim that I had in my four most recent cars before the Taycan (Aston Martin DB11, Maserati Levante, Maserati Quattroporte, and Porsche Cayenne e-Hybrid).
Please keep in mind that the entire steering wheel is not CF. The areas where you initially grasp the wheel from 8 to 10 o'clock and 2 to 4 o'clock are leather.

Update:
I've ordered a all leather wheel from Dallas Custom, perforated center, contrasting stitching. It comes "bare" and I add all my trim to it. I'm looking forward to getting it installed.
