When I put the motor into this stock-like configuration (AFM, pipes, etc.) I did it primarily for smog and didn't expect to be pushing the motor much, so don't think I tightened the clamps as much as I normally would. But then I started getting carried away tuning my own chips.... At this point, I'm going to make some kind of stock-friendly brace. I have always been a big fan of Corky Bell's Maximum Boost book, and have gravitated toward boost braces after reading his discussion on the subject. He made the case for boost braces before that terms was even coined. He's essentially saying that rubber couplers are designed to keep air in, but not designed to keep pipes together under heavy pressure....

Tom, thanks for reminding me about his book...Page 63 and 64 if anyone else has the book.
I need to review and reread....
