I ordered 3M 5915, which is .4mm thick. We shall see when it gets here... Although, I'm starting to worry that I'll miss my cabinet badge....
I took a zillion pictures and measurements before pulling it off, but if you have access to a template for a 992 Turbo S, that would be awesome! I may just put it back on the car yet!
what did you decide to do with rear emblem. I am having my car PPF'd this week and have the same issue. I am not sure if I should put emblem (911 Carrera S) back on. I am also on the fence if I should have rear bumper done. Adds alot to the cost of the job. Most of the car will be done (front, doors sides etc). Thoughts appreciated.

The emblem is still on my shop cabinet door. I'll put it back on eventually, maybe, but the car looks just fine without it and that emblem is a dirt trap on the car. It also looks cool on the cabinet. So I dunno, still on the fence.
As for ppf, I had the whole car done, mostly for peace of mind and so the whole car would look the same. That latter concern wasn't warranted though, at least with the suntek we used. There are little places we didn't cover (like behind the rear license plate) and you really can't tell without studying close up. The rational thing to do is to cover the high risk areas -- windshields forward, rear wheel arch, etc., and get 95% of the rock chip protection for less than half the cost. But doing the whole thing can also help with dings. If the paint isn't scratched when you get a ding, those paintless ding guys can bring it back to perfect. When you do the whole car, you can also use the same wash/wax routine on the whole car. If you only do high risk areas, you'd need to care for wrapped and unwrapped areas differently. Not a big deal, but another thing to consider....
