Unfortunately, I was also thinking that an issue with the device itself may be the cause of the problem, especially since there is significant communication going on between your PC and the DSC. There are only so many other possibilities that can be checked off before coming to that conclusion.

Is your DSC still under warranty? (Three years I think?) Even if not, I'd ask them if they'd troubleshoot the controller and get it up to specs if you send it to them. No idea what they'd charge but I'd think it would be reasonable. (Well, it should be anyway.)

Have you tried a different USB cable? I learned to my great frustration that some are made to deliver power only...

I just tried this, as I too have learned the hard way. But, alas, same result.

Good news! I finally figured it out. It required downloading the driver again, but making sure it was moved within the application folder itself. For whatever reason, launching the standard executable didn't do this. Simply downloading the driver didn't get it to the correct location either.

Thanks everyone for all of the educated guesses. The Carpokes community is a special bunch.

Great that you figured it out. And also very good to know what was done to get things corrected and connected!

I notice the software is labeled 9x1. But it also apparently is compatible with 9x2 cars?

That's great, congrats. Brochure saying no installation needed was probably written by the marketing dept, while the software guys were screaming yeah but, but, but...

Yes, but you have to order the correct unit. The map/tuning will work fine
