My double-top-secret method for cars and other interesting stuff has been to "ask". We have no children, and most liquid assets will be divided among surviving sibs. Two have expressed interest in the Porsche, but in truth neither of them really has the time, patience, or skills to keep it happy and therefore be happy with it. The car is destined for the one who has at least the location and means for that. I also have an arrangement with a fellow owner, who can offer it for sale well, with proceeds going to the survivors' pool.
-------
As much as we love our special toys and such, the 'special' part is very personal to ourselves. Any future caretaker will start their own 'special' experience with the car when we are gone. There's at least a 50% chance that the car will be a burden on K after she stages my suicide. So the cleanest and easiest would be to have a path to market the car, and let the next caretaker build their own history. I'm the second owner of the car BTW, and while there's a fairly complete and documented history of how the car has been kept for the last ~~30 years in my care, plus all the PO's records, it doesn't tell the full story of course. But any buyer, as interested as they might be in the story, what they really want is to know is it was 'good' or better.
Maybe the bottom line is to make sure the car isn't a burden on your survivors, heirs, and executors. So no hard-to-fulfil conditions attached. Especially if they aren't Porsche people.
Me, I'm doing more and more research these days, mostly brushing up on my firefighting skills in preparation for the afterlife. Gotta cover all the possibilities!

@Tom,
I am with the others who say enjoy while you can. I have 3 kids and figure that the 944 turbo would go to my son. My youngest daughter has already “claimed” my recently acquired 968 Cabriolet. I would be more than willing to become the caretaker of whatever you would entrust to me. I have a climate controlled workshop so it would never be too hot or cold. I love my Porsches and do all the maintenance on them. I would have to brush up on 911 maintenance, though.
Just send me a PM.

I have a bunch of cars and at 76 will probably buy nothing except for some kind of electric runabout about for the city ultimately.
My son has only recently shown interest in Porsches so he can have whatever he wants and the rest will be sold I expect. I am unlikely to buy another GT3RS at this stage- the cars will be better and faster of course but I won't be.
