So the break in period has been a talk amongst all brands pretty much. I know that Porsche brings every engine that they build and put into cars to full power tests before installing a vehicle. So per that, the engine is already broken in by Porsche before it even leaves the factory. The only thing I don't like is that they do not change the oil before delivery or for 1k miles like BMW Ms cars do. I talked to my Service Advisor and he told me that they won't change the oil until a year or 10k miles. The break in period is there I think because liabilities for Porsche, if they put that in print, people will be hold accountable if they see any high revs coming out of your car. They can see your highest rev with the OBDII. I am planning on changing the oil at 1k or 1,200 miles after I get it. I think that it is healthy for the engine to have clean oil and clean/new filter. This by the way is my opinion.
