So ---

New blue hose is in. Fluid is flowing to the clutch master. The line from the clutch master is connected to the slave cylinder. The slave is installed.

For the rich stuck-up cousin to your 968, the bleed/flush is most easily achieved by connecting a hose between a brake caliper bleeder, and the bleeder on the clutch slave cylinder. Open both bleeders. Pump the brakes gently, and fluid from the brake system will push back up from the slave cylinder to fill the clutch master, and finally go back to the brake fluid reservoir. You'll know you are pushing fluid, as you'll add fluid to the reservoir slowly to maintain level. At some point you won't see the reservoir dropping anymore as you pump the brakes. At that point you can pump the clutch pedal once or maybe twice, then a few more slow brake pedal pumps. Close the bleeders and remove the jumper hose. Done.

I'm stuck in neck traction for a while, or I would wander over and help with the work. No driving for me for a while. No lifting. Not even a glass of wine... too heavy? Can't even use a straw for that. That 'while' should get a definition in the next few weeks. Once your car can drive and I can move around a little, the workbay has a lift and air conditioning.

As someone who made a living producing videos and interactive teaching DVDs in the Silly Valley and the NW I had the blessing of test subjects. Clearly the gentleman shade tree mechanic I posted on bleeding did not have a test subject.
He left out a couple of steps that to people who had perhaps bled masters on other occasions were not important.
Last time I bled a master was at least 40 yrs ago.
The vacuum pump must be used with the clutch pedal UP!!
pump the vaccum pump until you see no more bubbles
Release the vacuum in the reservoir before pumping the pedal. IMPORTANT Since his peanut butter lid did not screw on he did not mention that step. I fabbed a screw-on lid and left it with vacuum in the reservoir so the first few times I pumped the pedal I got NOTHING. Then I saw his peanut butter lid off the reservoir. So rather than unscrew the lid I just released the vacuum on the pump handle.
Et Voila, very firm pedal. Might need to adjust the clevis rod but that is for another day. I am getting zapped every day at the cancer center and it does take somethjing out of me. Thanks for the comments
FURther. I always admire people who with not a lot of resources use their wits to do a work around!

thanks Dr B. You did not need to go putting yourself out of commision to avoid helping me. From 35 yrs of film and video I. understand the value of patience. The old saying is "an hour to set, a minute to shoot". I will test it Friday after the oncologist gives me another vaque answer to my "what is the prognosis?" question. There should be several waiting rooms. I do not like to be iin a room with people who look like scarecrows with clothes hanging off them.
So Bob, WTF did you do that you cant even drive?

I dislike hospitals too. Waaay too many sick people.

They slit my throat and stretched my neck a bit for me. Normally a punishment saved for rogues and horse-thieves. Fused a few adjacent disks, from a many-decades ago skiing whiplash injury. I've been losing the use and sensation in my arms and hands from the pinching, so I had to do something. I'd planned for a late-winter (no more shoveling) but before summer heat in recovery procedure, but things got delayed for various reasons. So here we are. Soft food and ice cream for a few days, but no unexpected things so far.

Patients and patience -- a doctor's best friends. All good so far.
