I've long wondered if a 3rd party may engineer the turbos for Vitesse...

They still are, I think: https://tialsport-outlet.com/collection ... -mount-kitBergerac wrote: Tue Mar 26, 2024 9:44 pm Tial had some of their billet turbo mounts available recently if you want to go down the Garrett GTX road but some fab involved in that
Really? Is the "Premier" Facebook group gone with it?Bergerac wrote: Tue Mar 26, 2024 9:44 pmM44 performance is gone.BigRatchet wrote: Mon Mar 25, 2024 7:15 am I recently purchased a second hand Stage 3r Vitesse turbo, upon delivery there are definitely some blemishes that need addressing. That leaves me with two options, a turbo rebuild or take my losses and buy a new turbo. If I went with the second option who is making modern turbo's for our cars ? I've read everywhere about the Voodoo's and UltraSpool's from M44 Performance but looks like their shop isn't open anymore.
Which turbo do you have mounted to the tail?four0four wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2024 12:30 pmThey still are, I think: https://tialsport-outlet.com/collection ... -mount-kitBergerac wrote: Tue Mar 26, 2024 9:44 pm Tial had some of their billet turbo mounts available recently if you want to go down the Garrett GTX road but some fab involved in that
I picked one up a while back - it won't come w/bolts and requires per TiAL (all SHCS iirc):
6 pcs M10x1.5x25mm
3 pcs M8x1.25x15 or 16mm
And then to mount turbo M8x1.25x25mm and 50mm. Drain on the bottom side is 3/8 npt (I fit some -8 adapters just fine, but clearance is tight!).
The Facebook group carries on, there is plenty of good information to be found on all 944 groups if some critical thinking is applied and you avoid the petty squabbles that originated on Rennlist. Back to the turbos......Tom wrote: Fri Mar 29, 2024 1:25 pmReally? At the moment it's not even on the carSirLapsalot wrote: Fri Mar 29, 2024 3:35 pmWhich turbo do you have mounted to the tail?four0four wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2024 12:30 pmThey still are, I think: https://tialsport-outlet.com/collection ... -mount-kitBergerac wrote: Tue Mar 26, 2024 9:44 pm Tial had some of their billet turbo mounts available recently if you want to go down the Garrett GTX road but some fab involved in that

I suspect that Vitesse wouldn't reveal what the spec of his turbos was, because he didn't want buyers knowing who designed and builds them, and bypassing him. Someone very well regarded in the Porsche world suggested he's a very good salesman. Nothing wrong with that, Lindsey buy in plenty of the stuff they sell.BigRatchet wrote: Fri Mar 29, 2024 11:41 pm I spoke with Charlie on the phone earlier and I will be sending my turbo out to him, We had a great conversation and he told me @blade7 that yes he used to build some of the Vitesse turbos he'll be able to tell once the turbo is with him. Now time to check off some other items on the list before it ships back![]()
