I believe the # 77 lost their 3rd place finish due to a penalty . They were deemed responsible for hitting the Corvette and that it was avoidable contact .

Appreciate that info. Was curious what happened as I knew they had initially finished the race in 3rd for GTD PRO which would have given Porsche three podiums (all in 3rd place) across the classes. I had not seen the penalty for the contact which was near the end and I didn't hear anything from the announcers at the time. Guess no one really knew at that point.

From today's e-Brake news:
A punishing 12 Hours of Sebring for Porsche
https://www.pca.org/news/punishing-12-h ... or-porsche
Typical Sebring - what a great track - most of the concrete surface dating back to WW2 and the early 40's. Hope they never change a thing except what is absolutely necessary to keep it functional.

Certain parts of the track are so bumpy, whenever I am out there I wonder how the drivers in race cars, with much lower suspension, keep their fillings in their teeth. Every few years the track owners talk about resurfacing but get shouted down. I love driving Sebring

Like Stormy I wonder how one does not get hemorrhoids after just a few laps, and those of us that have run there figure at some point they will have to grind the surface or completely redo some areas since vehicle breakage at Sebring is so high. Another concern is the issue that hitting some of the bumps upsets the cars so severely that they literally jump over to another portion of the track. The character the track needs to stay , but there are some things that will have to change in future years because the surface will get to a point where areas on the course will demand adjustments/repairs.
Running there with Panoz Racing School years back I had the back window come loose on one car, an inside mirror fall at my feet going into turn 17 , and another get a manifold exhaust leak from all the bouncing. Fun track , yet easily the most difficult of the famous endurance tracks in the World, imho!

IMSA (and other) drivers love the track along with the (plentiful) surface warts.
I'd like to get back on track at least one more time too but not likely as it's a haul from Mid-TN.

I would love to do one more track day at Sebring. But I don't trust my geezerhood for that...
