We're getting somewhere! Sorry for no updates for a while, school's been ridiculously busy. Did I mention I was doing this in college?👍Anyways, starting to learn how tedious the pull is, especially for the S. You can't exactly go off of basically anyone's guide for a lot of the little stuff because they're all based around the normal N/A or turbo. Guess that's the price I paid for buying the rarer N/A. I'm buying parts this week for sure, hadn't been able to find out exactly what I need vs. want. By the time they start arriving, I'll probably have about a month until I wanted this completed, here's to hoping everything goes well!

Parts are starting to show up! Curious about this adapter plate. The ones I've seen look slightly different. Been in contact with renegade hybrids, tempted to buy most of my special stuff from them the further I get into this.

Surprise! This thread isn't dead anymore! Car isn't finished yet but getting closer. I decided on buying most of my stuff from renegade and am improvising the rest. Going home for the summer made this project go on the backburner, but I'm back at college permanently next week.

The 4 banger is out and sold and the new engine looks awesome and is ready to go!

I've had all sorts of delays, the most recent one being my apartment complex re-siding the garages. Doing so, they hammered a few nails right onto my pressure plate, banging it up a little and i dont want to risk anything. They said they would reimburse it so we'll see how that goes

Can't wait to get this thing going!

That Vortec intake manifold may give you issues with hood clearance . The truck Vortec intakes are taller than the car LS intakes . The truck intakes flow well and provide solid torque . But they are a few inches taller in height . Keep the updates coming . I have an S10 pickup with a 5.3 Vortec , it is fun to drive .

Yup this is known and I'll be running it hoodless for the time being lol. I'd like to find a cheap black hood and cut it but I haven't been so lucky. I expect to do a second stage build in the winter and get a vette top end and hopefully power steering.

New issue has come up. My alternator bracket calls for a 3 bolt setup. I understand I'll need to drill and tap the outer one, but the inside one calls for a bolt in a threaded hole next to the timing cover on my iron block which it does not have. Drilling one would likely hit the jacket, so I'm a bit confused where to go from here. Just run 2 bolts? there is another bracket supporting the rear anyways, so it's tempting.

Why the alternator low mount ? Is that for hood clearance ? I have to assume the manufacturer of the billet bracket engineers wanted the additional mounting bolt for a reason . Obviously you can try it without the one mounting bolt and see what happens .

In case you aren't aware there are DIY videos out there on how to " shave " the Vortec intake manifolds . This gains about an inch of hood clearance and also makes it more visually attractive. On my S10 Vortec V8 conversion a cowl induction hood was installed which gives enough clearance to the intake and alternator in the high mount position .

It's mainly for throttle body and power steering line clearance, and the conversion to camaro spacing already had me buying new accessories so I'd rather be ready when I convert to a vette top end.

I was definitely thinking of shaving it just for the more sleek look, but I want to avoid getting a scoop as in my opinion they don't look great on 944s.

I saw someone with the same problem as me though, and they just used the two bolts no issue. Probably will just do that and see how it goes.
