I am 71 , sneaking up on 72 in a month and a half, and even with my bad right knee I am doing a pretty good job rolling out of my 2024 Cayman GTS with ........................GT4 style CF full buckets! Tell your wife , Bill, that you know another old fart who sort of rolls out of his Porsche. But, next year the GTS will hopefully have camber plates, competition alignment, new 18 or 19 inch Apex wheels, PPF, sticky Bridgerock RE71RSs or Goodyear F1 Supercar 3Rs, side window air deflectors, tow hooks front and rear, tie down hooks and more. Once in that lovely little jet fighter like cocoon I feel like I am 30 again -- okay maybe 40,ha!

I do understand the desire to sell and with the big increases in price many on here can make a little profit or break even, so that is a temptation, but with so many 70 year olds posting here one has to ask the next question, " Are you doing so well and having a lot of fun because your little German beauty is the road mistress that keeps you vital?" I know it helps me, plus my wife let's me accessorize the 718 mistress with no jealousy and I imagine she likes that it gets me out of the house!

While I plan ahead significantly and am well organized in all things, when it comes matters such as in this discussion I just pretend as much as possible that I'm still young and deal with whatever comes my way when it happens and not before. That doesn't mean that I whistle past the graveyard or don't envision scenarios that I'll eventually have to deal with. Rather, I take things as they come. And yes, I'm in the upper end of the ages being mentioned on this thread - three-score and fourteen this coming April.

I love the LWB's and have entrance/exit down pat. Part of that has to do with significant experience getting in and out when at the track with helmet and Hans, etc. - it's a good training master. Other race seating I've had over the years helped greatly too.

I agree whole-heartedly with those who like the support and comfort of LWB's, although I realize that is helped in that I'm not tall nor large, so fit is much easier. They support so very well. I even like the LWB's for long drives such as the ride to and from Barber Motorsports Park this past Sunday - roughly 3.25 hours each way. The ride home Sunday night was after 150 on-track miles that day and yes, I was pretty worn out - slept long and well Sunday night.

I’ll jump in on this lively discussion of First World problems.
I am 77 and have owned Porsches since I was 28. Currently I drive a 718 GTS with 18-way seats, which I find very comfortable.
The getting in-and-out thing is a bit of a challenge but only in my snug garage where the wall prevents me from fully opening the door. I’ve gotten pretty good at ingress and egress, but nobody’s watching me in the garage, so it may be funnier than I think it is.
With the car door wide open, in and out is a breeze. I plan to keep driving for as long as I can remember where the Pacific Coast Highway is in relation to my house. So far, so good.

That sure looks like a Chalk GTS , which is what I have also, which leads one to conjecture that maybe it is easier to live with this color 718? Just saying...............

Well, I made good on part of my plan: Last week I bought a 2020 Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG. A 9 speed auto(manual MB's are rarer than unicorns) that meets most of my needs for good handling and acceleration, though not in Porsche territory. Now I have to make myself finish the deal and sell my 718. I'm not quite ready yet, but it's gonna happen, I guess.

Nice! The c43 has always been a great daily driver. I had its bigger brother the c63s - Was a blast!
