J-Dub wrote: Thu Oct 26, 2023 7:36 pm There is an option in the car menu to revert all setting to the factory default, I assume that would not have any radio presets defined. I could not figure out how to clear the preset after playing with mine for 5 minutes.
My 2022 718 came with a Sirius preset. Followed instruction to remove and now have two Sirius presets. And to make things more enjoyable, I get a "get Sirius subscription" when I scroll through the dash's multi function display.

My theory is that these PCM's were designed my some manager at Porsche with an unemployed nephew that needed a summer job. Ted Mack's Original Amateur Hour......

I believe the PCM favorites selections can be customized for each of our two key fobs. So, you should be able to create a new set of radio presets and “memorize” them to your second fob. Then, whichever set of favorites you might favor 😬 for a particular day, use the appropriate key fob. Easy as pi (not a typo).
Or, you could just put it in Sport Plus and listen to that engine!

I vote for the listen to the engine part!

It's one reason I cannot answer the specific station preset issue regarding 718 PCM's because the radio in my GT4 has never been on except for the first week when I took delivery. I don't have nav and know next to nothing about the 718 PCM. In that car, the screen is always off - perpetually dark.

Plus, the glorious sound has been further enhanced with the Soul OAP's and the always-on option with the PSE button thanks to M-Engineering's M-Tune.

So I was in the 992 today and poked around with the pre-sets. On my car, if you press and hold a preset station graphic, a little message pops up that says to swipe up to delete it. It worked! It's like flicking unwanted pages off an iPhone/iPad. Once gone, the space just says to press the spot to make the current station a favorite. No idea is the 718 PCM is the same, but it is possible to delete a pre-set on my car. :)

Ah, missed that, sorry. I didn't see a garbage can icon like that, but yours is in a different screen/view in that picture. I'll check that screen next time. :) It does make me wonder how many things change from one PCM software update to the next...

PCM software (and hardware) is all over the map and that's true for all the similar types of systems throughout the current new vehicle landscape. There are also myriad reliability and performance problems that are growing - ask the roll-back tow drivers - I did tonight.

I fear we've entered the Great Abyss of Vehicular Digital Hell. Next on the menu is the Vehicular AI Software Apocalypse. Maximum Overdrive.

(I need some old fashioned microchip-free and digital-free Mad Max type vehicles, complete with mounted skulls. )

Or maybe just an old truck...

Whew, thanks Larry C, your note calmed me down and I will be able to sleep tonight. I am about ready to run out of my free preview and I was afraid I was doing something wrong also. Thanks to you I don't have to worry all Winter because I am going to just let Sirius lapse ------give them 3 months and they will be offering me the same thing for $5 bucks a month.
See folks, even your smallest concerns can be settled here on Carpokes as everyone is so helpful.

Allow me to revisit this thread and REPOSE the original question:
Does anyone know how to delete a FAVORITE radio station on the 718 PCM?
I tried today. Even read the manual, Googled, and searched YouTube. Still no answer.
Can it be possible that the long-in-the-tooth 718 “hybrid PCM” design has NO WAY to delete or rearrange favorited radio stations? Gah.

Overwrite existing is the only way as far as I know, at least from my experience. None can be deleted. You have to tune to a station and then press and hold a preset button until it stores. You have to do each station that way. They cannot be sorted.

I made a list of what I wanted for the 15 available slots in the order I wanted them and then programmed each one. There is no key fob memory for presets - presets stay with the radio, not the driver/key. Also, IIRC, one cannot do anything with the five auto-tune slots reserved for the strongest FM stations relative to where the car is at the moment. Regarding Sirius, you cannot access all available stations as you move higher up the numbering ladder. High numbers into the 400s, 500s, 700s, etc were not anticipated by the radio designers, rendering the device incapable of those later Sirius station additions.

It's a primitive system for sure. Not sure if it can be accessed or hacked or rewritten via some kind of tuner device.

The printed owner's manual (2021 models) is not very helpful as you mentioned. (For 2021 models, the info is on pp 183-184 and 200 - 203.)
