Good memory, yes, the rearcwould dart left and right when throttle was applied or released. But that was due to a broken/left off bolt in the rear suspension, and once replaced the issue went away.

Thanks for all the input, I don't necessarily disagree with any of it, except my experience with the Goodyears was terrible, my 981 came OE with them and they lasted slightly over 4000miles.

Before I throw these things away I'm gonna experiment with tire pressure a bit to see if it helps. They are just a temporary measure, because I hate waste and didn't want to put four new tires on when only two were worn out. I did this with my 981, but always kept the same brand, Michelin, although for a while I had A/S rears and HP fronts, no ill effects.
One guess is that the Falkens and the Pirellis don't play well together. Also, in reference to my comment regarding my experience with the Pirellis that didn't seem stable to me, maybe they are the culprit? Even though your fronts aren't showing wear, it's possible they have degraded and worn in ways that aren't easily seen. If so, they will not perform as expected and could be accentuating the darting you're experiencing. It might not be the Falkans at all. It would be interesting to know how your 718 would perform with a new set of the same Falkens all around.
Bill, I had this stored/bookmarked:

"It is also important to know that while Porsche N-specification tires have been fine tuned to meet the specific performance needs of Porsche vehicles, the tire manufacturers may also build other tires featuring the same name, size and speed rating as the N-specification tires for non-Porsche applications. These tires may not be branded with the Porsche N-specification because they do not share the same internal construction and/or tread compound ingredients as the N-specification tires. Using tires that are not N-specific is not recommended and mixing them with other N-specification tires is not permissible."

I've had the first link below from Tire Rack bookmarked for several years. They get some of it correct but N-spec tires don't always have the second letter designating the corresponding model as the Tire Rack article suggests. (Maybe the second letter is an internal tire designation that's not always on the sidewall.)

The second link is one I found via quick cursory search a few minutes ago and is from a Porsche dealer (Porsche Spokane). It explains the designations similarly but without mention of the second letter designations.

Good info for sure, but I have not found a one-stop resource to say: Here are all N Spec tires available for your car. I did find it for Classics but not modern Porsches.

Probably won't be such a resource due to the fact that they are constantly changing. They go to ver "1", then "2", etc. and then eventually start back with "1" again.

The ground is shifting constantly and each tire manufacturer works independently w/Porsche (and other high-end auto companies) and they don't corroborate with each other much, so probably not anything out there that would be 100% accurate.

Also, tire retailers are only going to post what they sell and/or have in stock.

If you find such a list, please share it!

It would be great if someone compiled that info and kept it current. I don't understand why Porsche wouldn't do that. Then again, knowing how Porsche tends to operate at times, I do understand! They can be obscure when they choose to.
