I saw a beautiful orange 914-6 driving down my street today -- no idea who it was -- but the car showed a ton of owner care and appreciation. Almost wanted to stop him in the middle of the street and ask him to join up. :)
I agree Tom,
We all like the older cars. I have been in R Gruppe for a long time. We love the early small bumper cars of 1965-1968 and the small bumper long wheelbase cars in 1969-1973. These are getting very expensive for most guys.

It's just that most Porsche vehicles today are water cooled. I'd say 1999 and above. I'd say the early tech is good, and the future is in the 1999+ cars.

JMO and all: This is my first 991.1

It was a great car. I wish I still owned it.

We all know the Porsche 991.1 was the last of the NA engines made by Porsche.

The 2014 Porsche 3.4 is still a firm buy for me. I'll say the car is good for150,000 miles with regular maintenance.

My 718 GTS 4.0 has a NA engine. I’m pretty sure Porsche also uses NA engines in their GT cars:
718 GT4
718 Spyder
718 GT4 RS
911 GT3
911 GT3 RS

They all are great engines, a throwback to the old daysšŸ¤™šŸ»

Larry,
You name a few hard to find rare cars. I'd say they are the best of today's cars. It's not a throwback to yesterday but what is happening today. I say buy these Porsche cars.

My 2023 Porsche is great as my daily driver.

The Porsche engineers continue to improve the handling and the engines.

I say the Porsche 992.2 Turbo will be faster than my car.

The more I read and study, the more I think about a 914 to 914-6 conversion. Hard to beat the wail of the six, and you could use more of the performance envelop on the street.

@Tom Thank you for putting together this site. Lately, I have been spending time on one of the Mercedes forums in anticipation of one of my two new cars to arrive. Some of the banter on the MB forum is down right rude and offensive. It reminded me once again how different this forum was compared to most of what's out there. I will be posting more on this site once my other new car arrives (2023 Cayenne S Coupe). It should arrive in Georgia from Connecticut later this week.

Thank you for the very kind words. This forum exists for exactly that reason. I'll resist the urge to launch into a rant about the revenue vs civility calculus of the big media-giant forums, and simply say Carpokes exists to offer the civility, help, and camaraderie you'd find at any local Porsche/PCA get-together. As we approach 3200 members, I'm more convinced than ever that the Porsche community wants a place like this. :)

p.s., I just noticed @911R originally posted this thread in the "In the News" forum, which is for news stories involving Porsches, so I moved it to the O.K. Corral for lack of a better place. :) While some might argue a civil Porsche forum is in fact big news, we'll have to wait for someone to publish a story about us to warrant talking about ourselves in the News forum. :)
