I've driven the original track twice, first time after picking up my '16 Cayman GTS and then in '21 when I got my GTS 4.0 there at the PEC, after reading the report in Pano I have put that on my to-do list, I'm going to my dealer tomorrow for my 2 year service, and will hint around that I'd like to go, maybe they have an extra voucher laying around!

Great idea Bill thanks for the tip! I'll ask the same when I'm next at my dealer.

I have been to Barber back in late 2005 or early 2006 with the Audi club and my VW R32. Great track and facility.

Last month I attended the 75th anniversary party thing at the PEC in LA. It was quite an experience. I got there early and still had to park 6 or 8 blocks away. I lost count after I saw more than 10 GT4-RS parked on the street. They were everywhere.

Ten GT4-RS's in one spot - how great is that!

Barber is beyond awesome. Glad that you were able to do an event there. It IS the Augusta of motorsports tracks! A magnificent facility that's kept in near perfect shape all the time. IndyCar there is a blast on TV - bet it's even more fun in person as there are many great areas to see the track.

The museum is also amazing - the largest motorcycle museum in the world I believe. Did you get a chance to visit it? It's expanded since you were there. George Barber has built a magnificent ode to road course racing, both motorcycle and auto. Barber is not to be missed if ever near there.

I did not get the chance to visit the museum at Barber unfortunately. I will put it on the list next time I get back that way.

I also did not know there were so many PEC around, that is cool. The track at the LA one is small and tight and lots of barriers right off of the track line, no safety runoff.

At the LA PEC they had some racing simulators with a worldwide competition event going on, I entered and took my shot. This was the first time I ever tried a simulator or left foot braking, that is quite hard and with a sim there is not really a feeling of speed or control or how much braking you need. It was a three lap thing and I had an off on all three laps. Still, it encouraged me to buy Gran Turismo 7 and I have started to play that.

So far in GT7 the only track I have been on that I have actually been on in real lift is the big track at Willow Springs. I can still remember my lines when I was there.

I second the Barber evaluation, it's a great track. I drove my two dedicated track cars there in the first few years of its existence, E30 325is and then a E36 M3. It's very technical and lots of fun, and indeed the Augusta of racetracks. The Atlanta PEC track is similar to LA as there's no runoff there either. It's still fun but the tight track and close Armco keep one from pushing it.

In 2026 Porsche driving experience will open at Laguna Seca. With a group called Light Speed I booked two days on track for the first weekend of October.
