I've been using Millers 15w 50 CFS in my turbo for almost 15 years. Not sure if CFS is still available though, or if it was replaced by their Nano blend.

Motul's site recommends 10w40.. same as LiquiMoly's.

I've been using LiquiMoly for a decade now.. it's easily available at a local store and also on Amazon.ca

I find the 10w40 good for winter.. but too thin for summer: oil pressure drops significantly on warm days.

Liqui's 10w60 is solid in hot weather! But awfully thick for cold. Of course, they don't have anything in between.

In Sept, I put in 10w60.. ran a bit short.. then topped up about a litre with 10w40. Have to say, I'm liking the combo lol

I use 10-40 all year around now. Oil pressure gets down toward 2 at idle when hot, but always jumps up when I actually drive. If I use 20w-50, my lifters tick.... Probably not a great basis for picking oil, but this motor is going on 15 years now(!!), so can't be too bad for it...

In the hot summer with 10w40, pressure shows just a hair under 2 at idle.. but with 10w60, it stays over 2

I swear the mix of both is proving a great compromise this winter

With over 300,000kms, it's a moot point.. just glad it's running lol

My understanding is that the difference between 10W50 and 10W40 isn't terribly significant and the latter might just prove to be a better fit for your car:

The 10W40 and 10W50 have similar viscosity at 0ºC but at 100ºC (operating temperature ) the 10W40 will have 96% of the 10W50 range -- 167 versus 160. It's also plenty for a low HP car like ours.

While I wish the temp gauge was similar to modern cars (pegged is pegged) I have to remind myself that what appears to be a hot running engine is an illusion and it really isn't. I have typically used a 15W40 or 15W50 as a result but must admit that I don't use my car year-round.

Temp gauge on my later car is different.. more like modern car.. except doesn't stay rock steady in one spot all the time.

When cooling system is all good, though it goes no more than half way, it often fluctuates between 1/4 and 1/2

Whenever I see someone asking about oil for Porsches, I share the following website. Independent testing of oils by brand and weight. Good reference guide for what is good, what is hyped and not so good, etc. Find one you like, that is available in your area, or check out what you have been using. Valuable info….

Air-cooled vs water-cooled is also an important distinction. Scroll down through the article, and note the commentary re VR-1 Valvoline in 20W50 formulation (#97)…. It’s what I use in my 76 911S 2.7.

That's a ton of writing to get through but there is a lot of solid, apparently very well researched info. To properly analyze all that's presented would take hours, but cursory specific brand searches definitely help. Amsoil Sig Series products get excellent marks which is good to know.
