I've used the Forever Black stuff and think it's great. But beware it is a pretty serious black dye -- so needs to be applied carefully to keep it off anything you don't want black!

Nice. How do you think it would work on a gray top?Tom wrote: Thu Aug 04, 2022 3:22 pm I've used the Forever Black stuff and think it's great. But beware it is a pretty serious black dye -- so needs to be applied carefully to keep it off anything you don't want black!

Was that a grey top from the factory, or faded black? The forever black stuff is great, but not sure I'd use it to change the original color? I'm sure it would look fantastic on day 1. My concern would be how long it lasts. If it's a color change (even grey to black) I might be tempted to use a true paint like the fabric paint that SEM sells.

Yes, it was Stone Grey top from the factory.Tom wrote: Thu Aug 04, 2022 6:17 pm Was that a grey top from the factory, or faded black? The problem is that grey looks faded to me to begin with. Factor in 17 years of actual fade and it just looks meh.
I'm debating what to do.
I think you're right though. Perhaps I should simply find some gray fabric paint....or just let it be.
