I'm starting a list of off-the-shelf spray paints that are identical or nearly identical to Porsche colors. I'm up to 3 now, since I just discovered that Rustoleum makes a "JD Yellow" which is nearly identical to Racing Yellow. (@Bob Z may find this particularly useful....).

So the list so far is:

Rustoleum Sunrise Red = Guards Red
Rustoleum Sail Blue = Shark Blue
Rustoleum JD Yellow = Racing Yellow

I guess black would be an easy match, found a white to paint my key trim pieces to match my Cayenne in pure white. I'm guessing an off the shelf Aventurine Green Metallic is gonna be difficult.
'21 718 GTS 4.0, AGM/Espresso/ Cognac
'17 Cayenne base, White/Luxor/Black
'16 Cayman GTS, great car, sold for the 4.0
'13 Cayenne base, DBM/Luxor beige
'06 Cayman S, first mid-engine car
'86 944 Turbo, fast! Stone grey
'84 944, my first Porsche DBM

Sorry about that. I discovered this paint today while looking for something else, and immediately thought of you. Where did you order? I recently ordered a can of paint from "myperfectcolor.com" and it wasn't even in the right ballpark. In the long run, this Rustoleum is likely to save you some time and money -- if not this project, then the next... :)

This was supposed to be University of Texas burnt orange. Let's just say if wasn't 'my' perfect color.... :wtf:

No worries Tom! I ordered it from automotivetouchup.com and I requested an order cancellation today. They matched Miami Blue perfectly for me in the past albeit the first time they sent me a can of Green! But they said it was someone else's order by mistake. I just ordered a can of the Rust. JD from Lowes though since I want to see how close it really is...for $5 and change it is worth trying!

I'll be interested to see your findings on that paint. All I have to go on is the code-matched can of Racing Yellow I get from my local auto-paint store. I painted a bezel in it once and compared it to a RY car at the dealer, and it was super close. This JD yellow is likewise super close to the paint I have. Probably not 100% identical (though maybe), but within a range that is indistinguishable by eye unless the colors are touching or directly on top of each other.
